SEYC News...
John Anderson (Photo)
Jon Anderson grew up in Albany, Georgia. He attended SEYC in 1991. Jon's friend, Bart Cannon, invited Jon to attend SEYC. Bart and Jon rode to the camp with Bobby Joiner, one of our speakers. At that camp, Jon became a Christian, believing in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Bart and Jon continued to attend SEYC each year, "growing up" at camp, also serving as counselors and leaders in the late 90s. Bart still serves as counselor and leader at SEYC.
The last 5-6 years, Jon has attended VMI (Virginia Military Institute), trained at Fort Benning, Georgia and has served in Iraq for a year. He recently returned to America in December 2005. Jon held Bible studies at VMI, on army posts and in Iraq. He has been a shining example of Jesus Christ in everything he does.
Wherever he is, we know he will be smiling!

Wade Googe
Wade Googe, originally from Jackson, Mississippi, moved to Florida with his parents. He is married now and has three children. While he lived in Mississippi, he and his family attended SEYC from 1990 to about 1995. The question always is asked, "Who is / was the BEST white cap of all at SEYC?" (A "white cap" is a group of guys who are responsible for raising and lowering the flag each day in a ROTC style flag fashion, running errands for counselors and staff, and general "unwanted" jobs). Wade is and always was a leader, doing jobs and tasks before anyone asked. Staff and counselors would ask Wade to do something and he would have already done it.
Wade recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq as a crew chief and door gunner on a Black Hawk helicopter. We want to thank Wade for his service to his country and tell him he is always in our prayers.
