Troy Swafford
Troy was born in Conway Arkansas in 1968. He and his family moved to HoustonTexas in 1972. They lived in Houston approximately 5 years where they attended Berachah Church. Troy was saved (age 7 or 8) in Berachah prep school after hearing the Gospel message preached. The Swafford's moved to Birmingham Alabama in 1977 where the family attended Doctrinal Studies Bible Church. They moved to Laurel Mississippi in 1984 where Troy finished High School (junior and senior year). Troy joined the U.S. Army after High School graduation. He attended basic training, infantry school, airborne school, and the Ranger indoctrination program (RIP) at Ft. Benning Georgia.. He was then assigned to the 1/75th Ranger Battalion at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah Georgia. Troy transferred to the 24th Infantry Division at Fort Stewart Georgia in 1988 where he met his wife Kim as she attended college at the Savannah College of Art and Design. They were married in February 1989. He received an honorable discharge from the Army in 1990 and moved 3 times after that (Birmingham, Hope Arkansas, and back to Birmingham) before settling in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Troy and Kim have been married for 17 years and have four beautiful children Emily, Jake, Tori, and Leah. They have been in Hot Springs for almost 7 years 2 of which Troy has served as Pastor of Grace Bible Church. Troy attended The School of Biblical Theology in Birmingham, at Doctrinal Studies Bible Church under the direction and mentorship of Ron Adema from 1992 - 1997.
