Dear
Young Americans:
I loved being at last year's
camp and appreciate the response from all of you.
When I speak in school assemblies,
across the country I use the letters in
A M E R I C A to represent certain qualities. It's
these qualities that will provide you with the strength to
help this great nation by making good decisions, based upon
Truth! To make those good decisions you must first start with
the most important one, the decision to believe in the Lord
Jesus Christ. Please, let me explain.
When Christ died on the cross
as a substitute for each one of us, He solved our greatest
problem. Our problem is that we were born spiritually dead.
We each inherited an old sin nature from our earthly fathers.
We are incapable of saving ourselves and nothing we can do
will ever win favor with God. That is why God in His wonderful
grace sent His only begotten Son, born of a virgin and without
a human father as a substitute for each one of us. He died
spiritually and then physically on the cross, was placed three
days in the tomb and then rose again to ensure that the power
that gave Him life again can be yours by faith. God’s grace
makes it so simple. When you personally accept what Christ
did, in your place you will have eternal life. (You can read
more about this gift in the following bible verses:
Acts 16:31,
Romans 5:12,
Romans 3:23,
Romans 6:23,
Ephesians 2:8-9 and1
John 5:13). All you have to do is tell God right now that
you believe in Jesus Christ, that He died - to pay your sin
debt and that He was buried and walked out of that grave 'alive'
and the gift of eternal life is yours.
I salute you,
